Young generation hesitates until 30th birthday: potential for growth in Germany

A look at the willingness of the young generation - opportunities and challenges

In a current study, the entrepreneurial potential of the young generation in Germany was examined more closely. Over 1,700 participants were asked whether they could imagine a company foundation until their 30th birthday.

Surprisingly, a third of the respondents stated that a foundation is currently not in their plans, but is also not excluded. For more than 25%, the role as a founder does not seem to be attractive at all. These results raise important questions: Why do many young people hesitate to take the step into self -employment?

The study, which was carried out between the summer of 2023 and spring 2024, indicates that the young generation in Germany slumbers unused potential for more entrepreneurial activities. The foundation in Gütersloh advocates identifying and reducing barriers for prospective founders in order to reinforce this promising trend.
