New Haba Docals brings momentum for the port of Hamburg
The controversial port between the Swiss shipping company MSC and Hamburg Hafen and Logistik AG (HHLA) causes a stir in the industry. The MSC boss Toft has announced that it would build a new Germany center in Hamburg and increase the equity of the HHLA by 450 million euros. This is to not only increase the load quantity, but also to further expand the Burchardkai container terminal.
MSC operates over 100 port terminals worldwide and therefore has a lot of experience in the area of growth, modernization and increasing productivity. These are now to be shared with the HHLA to ensure growth in the harbor together. One central goal is to keep HHLA competitive and attractive as a provider for all shipping companies, including Hapag-Lloyd. The Bahn daughter Metrans should also remain successful as a city open company.
The planned investments by MSC promises the hull deal to bring new impetus for the port of Hamburg. The modernization and expansion of the infrastructure will not only strengthen the portability of the port, but also create jobs and boost the regional economy. The focus is on enabling long -term and sustainable growth through the cooperation between MSC and HHLA and strengthening the port as an important transshipment point for international trade.
