New regulation for your own shares in nursing assistants planned in autumn

The rising costs for care in German nursing homes have increasingly led to the financial burden of many people in need of care and their families in recent years. Now Minister of Health Lauterbach is checking an upper limit for the own contribution that those affected have to pay monthly.

Such a regulation could particularly relieve new nursing cases that only live in nursing for a short time. Lauterbach emphasized that after several years of inpatient care, the own shares decrease, but often remain high. Therefore, it is important to create a financial protection measure for those who are only dependent on care at short notice.

Details of how high the upper limit should ultimately be out of the question, the Minister of Health did not yet. However, he announced that a corresponding regulation should be presented in autumn in order to reduce the financial burden in particular for new care cases.
