Traffic control in Büdesheim: driver under drugs and without a driver's license

On September 4, 2024, police officers noticed a vehicle in Büdesheim that drove through the streets. Around 5:45 p.m., a patrol from the Bingen police discovered the car with the Binger license plate on Johannesstraße. The officials decided to carry out a traffic control, and the reason for this was quickly clear: the driver had not put on a seat belt.

When checking the 32-year-old driver, it turned out that he had no valid driver's license with him. Although he claimed to be in the possession of a Bulgarian driving license, it was later not detectable. When the officials found signs of drug consumption recently, the situation became more serious. A voluntarily carried out urine test confirmed their assumptions.

On the basis of these findings, the driver was brought to the police station, where a blood sample was taken from him. The research showed that not only his driver's license was invalid, also the claim to have a valid Bulgarian permission, turned out to be wrong. The man is now legally prosecuted because of driving without a valid driver's license and under the influence of narcotics.

The commitment of the police shows how important traffic safety and compliance with traffic rules are.
