Cuxhaven in penguin fever: special sale in the only penguin museum!

Cuxhaven has a penguin problem: the only penguin museum in Germany is facing the end. The operators, Birgit Berends and Stefan Kirchhoff, have started a special sale of their huge collection, which includes more than 26,000 penguin figures. The rush was overwhelming, as Berends reported: "The bear was going on here in the first half hour." The decision to close the museum was not easy, but the two are under immense pressure. "We have had no chance of serious vacation for 15 years," explains Berends, emphasizing that they have to separate from personal collections.

The museum remains open until November 2, with a large final sale on November 9th. Interested parties can then acquire the last penguin treasures, either on site or online. During their 14-year term, over 55,000 people visited the donation initiative that regularly donated profits to animal welfare organizations. The collection even made the leap into the Guinness Book of Records four times. For more information, see the current reporting at www.radiooberhausen.de .
