The kangaroo of Hemmoor: an unusual phenomenon

In the district of Cuxhaven, the kangaroo you are looking for causes a stir. The animal apparently escaped from its accommodation a few days ago, and while the police are busy with the search measures, the kangaroo also inspires the population. The runaway kangaroo was first spotted on Thursday morning. However, residents report that the animal has been roaming in the streets of Hemmoor-Osten for several days. According to the police, the animal has a shoulder height of around 60 centimeters and is considered harmless to humans. Such observations are not common in the region and quickly lift the kangaroo into the status of a local theme.

"The animal could come from a private property," explains a police spokesman. Interestingly, it is allowed in Germany to keep kangaroos privately as long as some specifications regarding the species -appropriate attitude are observed. This includes that the terrain must have large and high fence. But this is not difficult to fulfill what could increase the existence of kangaroos in the region.
