Federal Police grabs drug refugees at border with the Netherlands
On Wednesday, October 30, 2024, the federal police arrested a 22-year-old Hungary in the regional express 19 in Empel Rees, which was controlled from the Netherlands when entering. A comparison of his personal details showed that he was sought with an arrest warrant from the Deggendorf public prosecutor's office for violating the Narcotics Act. The man was unable to pay the due fine of EUR 450 and was then brought to the Federal Police Inspection Kleve, where the police measures were completed. He was then brought to the prison in Kleve.
For general security, the federal police have temporarily conducted border controls at the Schengen internal borders since September 16, 2024. This applies not only to the border line, but also a 30-kilometer border area in order to fight cross-border crime and to keep the search at a high level, as can be seen from the current knowledge of the federal police.
