on Sunday, October 20, 2024, there was a serious traffic accident in Hatten, which put a 66-year-old motorcyclist from Oldenburg in critical condition. At around 12:20 p.m., a 31-year-old driver from Delmenhorst wanted to cross the Borchersweg when she overlooked the motorcyclist coming from Streekermoor. There was a violent collision in which the motorcyclist was seriously injured. A rescue helicopter immediately took him to the hospital. The driver was not injured.

The accident site was evacuated for the duration of the investigation until around 1:30 p.m. In the meantime, the Borchersweg was closed, and the motorcycle was no longer ready to drive after the impact and had to be towed.
