Karlsruhe: 2,634 racer at the speed marathon - threatening fines!
As part of the Europe -wide “Speedmarathon” on Wednesday, the Karlsruhe traffic police registered 2,634 speed violations in just 24 hours! In the case of over 77,250 vehicles measured, 2,488 drivers must now expect warning money, while in 131 cases of fine procedures. Particularly delicate: fifteen traffic hubs threatens a driving ban!
Most speeds were caught between 6:00 p.m. and midnight. A driver on the A5 exceeded the permitted speed of 120 km/h at a whopping 206 km/h - that is a candy 199 km/h after deduction of tolerance! He now has to expect a fine of 700 euros, two points in Flensburg and a three -month driving ban. Also distance measurements on the A5 were not without consequences: 166 road users violated the prescribed minimum distance. Despite the terrifying figures, Leopold emphasizes: "Around 97 percent of road users behave in accordance with the rules."
