Serious accident on B14: 71-year-old bounces with trucks!

On Wednesday afternoon, a serious traffic accident occurred on the B14 near Mainhardt. At around 1:40 p.m., a 71-year-old Mercedes driver got oncoming traffic in a left turn for unknown reasons. A 36-year-old truck driver tried to avoid a collision by braking in time and stopping on the edge of the road. But the Mercedes driver raced head-on into his vehicle and remained trapped.

Due to the dramatic event, over 30 firefighters with six vehicles moved to the scene of the accident to free the seriously injured woman from her car. She was then flown to the hospital with a rescue helicopter. The accident led to a two -hour full closure of the B14, which could only be released again around 3:30 p.m. The rescue workers were on site with several vehicles, including two ambulances and an emergency doctor.
