Tragic accident on the B3: scooter driver dies after collision with truck

A tragic accident occurred on the B3 near Hofweier on Friday afternoon. A 37-year-old scooter driver was killed. He drove the driveway to the B3 from Binzuburgstrasse and initially stopped to follow two vehicles driving in front of him when turning to the B3 towards Lahr. He overlooked an approaching truck from the direction of Offenburg. Despite the evasive maneuver of the truck driver, there was a fatal collision.

The police, the emergency services and the technical relief organization are on site to redirect traffic. The Offenburg public prosecutor has commissioned an expert to reconstruct the exact circumstances of the accident. The clean -up work at the scene of the accident continues.
