Easter control: Truck drivers risk resting times on B33!
B33, 77716 Haslach, Deutschland - Four police officers of the Haslach district checked the rest periods of truck drivers in the parking lot on the B33 between Haslach and Hausach during the Easter holidays. On Saturday and Sunday, a total of nine saddle trains from other European countries were discovered, whose drivers had violated the regulations by spending their rest in the vehicles. According to German and European law, this behavior is prohibited from a fixed number of hours to ensure that the drivers are adequately recovered.
At the check on Easter Monday, there were clear violations: one of the tractor -transported perishable goods, and the driver was able to continue his journey after the maximum hours had been exceeded. The police also found that another driver continued on public holidays despite a ban on driving. When checking the remaining seven saddle trains, all driver data was recorded for punishment, and the onward journey was prohibited until a security deposit was paid. Two company representatives had to pay around 3,000 euros on site.
