BAB 5, 68789 St. Leon-Rot, Deutschland - At the Walldorf motorway cross, it was turbulent! Between the 22nd and 24th March 2025, the Mannheim traffic police carried out intensive speed controls on the BAB 5. In just three days, impressive 1,255 cars were measured too fast! The police grabbed 610 drivers, who not only behaved too quickly, but also so ruthlessly that they had to expect points in the driving suitability register.

A driver broke all records and raced with an incredible 170 km/h through a 100 km/h area-a real traffic offense! The results of these checks reveal an alarming problem: According to the latest accident statistics from the Mannheim police headquarters, excessive speed is one of the main causes of traffic accidents. The police announced that such controls are urgently necessary to make the streets safer.
