Serious accident on the A5 near Freiburg: lane closed!

In a serious traffic accident on the northern lane of the BAB 5 at Freiburg-Hochdorf, dramatic scenes occurred at 02:40 a.m. on the night of May 1, 2025. A car crashed with a residential trailer, whereby the residential trailer was completely destroyed and torn down by the towing vehicle. The underlying vehicle also suffered massive damage.

The highway had to be completely closed for about two hours between Freiburg-Mitte and Freiburg-Nord, which led to significant traffic disruptions. The cleaning work continues. Fortunately, no people were injured, but the damage to property amounts to around 35,000 euros. The police are looking for witnesses to the accident and asks them to report to the Freiburg traffic police around the clock.
