What a spectacle! On July 5, 2023, Unimog and tractor lovers met in the center of Biberach for the 20th. Unimog and tractor meeting. The event, organized by the “Unimog and tractor friends Biberach e.V.” in collaboration with the “Unimog Club-Gaggenau e.V.”, attracted an impressive number of visitors and vehicles. Around 1,300 people came together to marvel at 75 Unimogs, 5 MB Tracs and 81 tractors.
Nice weather and a relaxed atmosphere meant that all the benches in front of the town hall were well filled. Six club members skillfully coordinated the arrival of the group of vehicles and ensured that everything ran smoothly. Among the vehicles there were truly unique pieces to be found, such as a Unimog sauna train and a new Unimog U530 equipment carrier. Historic machines like the Unimog 2010 created nostalgic feelings.
A culinary journey
Physical well-being was also taken care of. A new system based on the division of labor ensured that guests at “Kinzigfood” from Haslach received tasty food. Especially at lunchtime, the kitchen team was able to handle no fewer than 400 simultaneous orders. One of the culinary innovations was the “Aperol Spritz”, and coffee connoisseurs also got their money’s worth, as the coffee was served directly at the table. Around 45 cakes were donated for the event, which perfectly rounded off the traditional coffee party in this relaxed festive atmosphere.
The organizing team received consistently positive feedback and the few overflow parking spaces were hardly needed. A suggestion box and an online portal ensured that suggestions for improvement could be collected. The innovative festival structure, also known as “Turbo-Fest”, enabled quick assembly and dismantling - on the day of the festival itself, construction began at 7:00 a.m., while the event started promptly at 10:30 a.m. and was dismantled again by 8:00 p.m.
Looking into the future
The members of the association, aged between 14 and 50 and free of contributions, have already announced the next date: The 21st Unimog and tractor meeting will take place on July 5, 2026. The festival originally arose from a summer festival organized by the local men's choir. With targeted invitations from Unimog and tractor owners, the event has developed into a real highlight in the calendar.
Not to be forgotten, Unimog fans will also be gathering this weekend at the Unimog Museum, where numerous globetrotters will be presenting their individually designed vehicles. A Dutch Unimog, which can extend a second attic, will be presented at the meeting as a special highlight. Such vehicles not only reflect the passion of their owners, but also tell stories of the adventurous journeys that these tireless vehicles have taken through the world allrad-camper.info reported.
The anticipation of the big Unimog annual meeting in Sand in Taufers is also palpable. From June 14th to 16th, 2024, another chapter will be opened here for Unimog lovers. The special feature is the beautiful landscape of the Ahrntal and a wide range of culinary offerings. Up to 400 Unimogs are expected here, and the event promises many exciting activities, such as a Unimog course for children and various demonstrations.
