Baden-Württemberg: Three new Michelin stars and a loss for the kitchen!

What's going on in the world of top cuisine in Baden-Württemberg? Even in 2025, the country will remain a true paradise for foodies. With a total of 73 star restaurants, the gastronomy in Baden-Württemberg maintains its standard and offers a wide range of culinary delights. Gourmets can look forward to three new star restaurants that have just been included in the Michelin Guide. The winners include these Kaisersaal in the Hotel Kaiserhof in Ravensburg, Raro in the Mühlenhof in Schriesheim and that Hawara in Freiburg im Breisgau. The latter is also proud to have received a green star for sustainable cuisine.

The two top restaurants defend themselves in the culinary epi-center of BaiersbronnBareissandBlack Forest Roomeach their three stars. Also the restaurants1789andSchlossbergare still awarded one star. With a total of seven star restaurants, Stuttgart remains the city with the largest offering in the southwest, while Freiburg is making a name for itself as an up-and-coming gourmet hotspot with five star restaurants.

Changes in the Michelin ranking

But not everything stays the same: the renowned two-star restaurantMill at Schluchseeloses one of its stars, the reasons for which were not given by Michelin. Also the former two-star restaurantSEO kitchen craftsin Langenargen is no longer open due to closure. Stuttgart's gourmet restaurantsRitzi GourmetandMARKOSare also no longer listed.

In the overall ranking, there are now 340 star restaurants in Germany, 77 of which have been awarded the sustainability seal, the green star. This honors catering establishments that rely on seasonal and local ingredients, use species-appropriately produced food and reduce waste. The green star is part of the Michelin system and also honors eight restaurants in Baden-Württemberg that promote sustainable cuisine.

The culinary wealth of Baden-Württemberg

A total of five new restaurants received their Michelin stars this year, underlining the state's importance in top cuisine. Dr. Patrick Rapp, State Secretary in the Ministry of Economy, Labor and Tourism, commented positively on these awards. There are now nine star restaurants in Stuttgart, and Baiersbronn remains a real gourmet Eldorado with two three-star restaurants and other excellent restaurants.

The culinary landscape in Baden-Württemberg is as diverse as the region itself. From traditional, middle-class inns to haute cuisine, every connoisseur will find a suitable restaurant here.
