Three new stars for Baden-Württemberg: enjoyment at the highest level!
A lot is happening in the culinary landscape of Baden-Württemberg: On June 23, 2025, the Michelin Guide presented the latest stars for the best restaurants in the country in Frankfurt/Main. The region can look forward to an unchanged number of 73 star restaurants, which will also be recognized this year for their extraordinary cuisine.
New to the group of award-winning establishments are three restaurants that have now been awarded one star. These include the “Kaisersaal” in the Hotel Kaiserhof in Ravensburg, “Raro im Mühlenhof” in Schriesheim near Heidelberg and the “Hawara” in Freiburg im Breisgau, which was also awarded a green star for sustainable cuisine. These honors show that the diversity and quality of gastronomy in Baden-Württemberg can continue to maintain a high level, as SWR reports.
Baiersbronn remains the front runner
Baiersbronn in the picturesque northern Black Forest has once again established itself as a stronghold of star restaurants. Here the “Restaurant Bareiss” defends its three stars under the management of Claus-Peter Lumpp. The “Schwarzwaldstube” also remains on the highest pedestal. Other renowned restaurants such as “1789” and “Schlossberg” can each enjoy one star. This collection of top cuisine makes Baiersbronn a special destination for gourmets who are looking for something special.
In Stuttgart, the city with the most starred restaurants in Baden-Württemberg, the “Speisemeisterei” remains the leader with two stars. But not all restaurants were able to defend their awards: the two-star restaurant “Mühle” on Schluchsee had to give up its star and the closed “SEO Küchenhandwerk” in Langenargen can no longer be found in the guide. In addition, the “Ritzi Gourmet” in Stuttgart and “MARKOS” in Weingarten are no longer on the list of award-winning establishments, reports Merkur.
A look at the new star heroes
The newest star winners show an exciting development in the region. The Michelin Guide has once again proven that good food always depends on innovative concepts and sustainable approaches. Restaurants like “Raro im Mühlenhof” and “Hawara” rely on fresh and regional ingredients and have not only secured a Michelin star, but also the green star for sustainable cuisine.
The variety of excellent restaurants is a real sign of culinary excellence in Baden-Württemberg. Over the years, the gastronomy here has not only established itself, but also developed further. The first stars in Germany were awarded in 1966, and today the Michelin Guide continues to show that top chefs are excellently trained and that it is worth embarking on a gastronomic journey in this region.
For all culinary explorers and connoisseurs in Baden-Württemberg, the anticipation of new taste experiences remains unbroken. The region has established itself as a melting pot of flavors and cultures - and that's a reason to celebrate!
