Young climber in acute danger: police investigated because of trespassing

On Sunday evening, several witnesses reported a dramatic incident in the area of the Johannes Hoops-Weg: A 17-year-old boy had gone at dizzying heights without climbing equipment and was helpless at an altitude of eight meters. How he made it there remains a mystery.

A quick intervention by the Heidelberg professional fire brigade and the rescue of the Mannheim professional fire brigade quickly caused rescue. Fortunately, the adolescent only contracted a small injury. Due to the blocked access to the rock face, which was secured by a fence and a padlock, the police station Heidelberg-Mitte is now investigating the young climber for trespassing.
