The Heilbronn region is currently experiencing a very special kind of weather change. After the heat wave with record temperatures pushed people to their limits in recent weeks, citizens can now look forward to a refreshing cool down. The Heilbronn Folk Festival is currently dominated by cooling drizzle, which makes the festival weekend pleasant. However, this relief also brings with it some weather warnings, as news.de reported on July 2nd. Thunderstorm warnings for the days around July 3rd spoke of wind gusts of up to 60 km/h and the risk of lightning strikes.
Weather expert Marco Puckert from the German Weather Service (DWD) announces that rain can also be expected in the next two to three days (until July 8th). However, the rainfall will not be the same everywhere, and temperatures will settle around a pleasant 21 degrees. It is likely to be cooler, especially on Tuesday night, with highs of just 17 degrees. So anyone planning to go out should dress warmly and be prepared for changeable weather, as stimme.de reports.
Week of extreme weather
However, the challenge of severe weather events is not limited to this week. The DWD points out that issues such as floods, storms and the recent heat waves represent a great burden not only for the population, but also for state institutions. The natural hazards portal was therefore created, which brings together current warnings, risk information and prevention measures on extreme weather events. Users can select specific locations to receive tailored information so that everyone is better prepared for future weather conditions, as dwd.de explains.
From Thursday the weather could turn to the sunny side again, with temperatures around 24 degrees. Puckert speaks of a stable weather situation with lots of sunshine and the possibility that temperatures will reach around 30 degrees over the weekend. This means the next heat wave could be just around the corner. After the cool days, it may soon be time to “hold on to the heat” again, at least until the expected thunderstorms arrive again.
