60 years of Litzelstetten beach: A celebration with a trampoline and cake!

The Litzelstetter lido on Lake Constance recently celebrated its 60th birthday. The celebrations were enhanced by the Bädergesellschaft Konstanz (BGK) with a special attraction - a trampoline island called Bouncer XXL with a diameter of 5.60 meters. This innovative water play equipment, which can be climbed using a rope ladder, functions as a relaxation island, trampoline and diving board and attracts not only children but also adults who are young at heart. The BGK also provided other attractions for the festival weekend, including the popular Action Tower from the Schwaketenbad and the Easy-Dunker, a challenge in which one person sits on a board that protrudes above water while others try to tip it into the water. Both ensure unforgettable moments by the water and can even be borrowed for parties or from schools.

The local administration donated a large birthday cake to the lido for this special occasion. At the celebrations, the mayor Dorothea Maier-Zepf expressed some wishes for the further development of the lido. She attached importance to a well-kept sanitary area, a restaurant that is inviting even in bad weather, more changing rooms by the water and sufficient shade. Barrier-free access to water should also be on the agenda, explained Maier-Zepf and found support from Julian Meser, the managing director of the BGK, who promised to seriously examine the proposals and work with the city on their implementation.

A look back at 60 years of lido

A look back at the history of the Litzelstetter lido brings many respected memories to light. Paula Hille, known as Polly, was a kiosk tenant at the lido from 1965 to 1998 and is perceived as an institution by loyal visitors. One of her former customers, Brigitte Wind, remembers that Polly was the contact person for all questions about the lido in her time. Such personal stories make clear the special connection people have with this place.
