Mysterious disappearance: Where is Armin Lauter from Magstadt?

A mysterious missing person case has been bothering the police in Magstadt for over a decade. Armin Lauter, a 49-year-old used car dealer, disappeared under mysterious circumstances at the end of December 2014. The man's last verifiable whereabouts was an Edeka market, whose surveillance camera recorded him on December 28, 2014. That day he was dressed in a black jacket, blue jeans and black shoes, a conspicuous man with a height of 1.90 meters.

His last news from the living world was received by his parents on December 24th, when he was planning to appear for her birthday on December 30th. Lauter had previously attended business appointments in Remshalden, Köngen and Wendlingen and may have driven to Sindelfingen on December 28th, where his cell phone was last logged in. On January 7th of the following year, his gray Mercedes G-Class was discovered parked unlocked in a no-parking zone on Gartenstrasse in Sindelfingen.

Intensive investigations without a clear lead

Since then, the police have pursued more than 60 tips and 730 leads. Search operations included both forest areas and the monastery lake in Sindelfingen, but were unsuccessful. A television appearance on the ZDF program “Aktenzeichen XY-unsolved” in 2015 did not provide any new insights. Instead, many questions arise. Lauter may have gotten into a dangerous situation as part of his car dealing or encountered the wrong person.

The investigators from the Böblingen criminal police have set up a special commission called “Garten” to further investigate the case. Lauter lived alone in his parents' house and ran a car dealership that no longer exists. Despite the long period of time, the investigation is not yet complete and will continue as new information emerges. The case remains in the files as a “cold case”, which causes great concern for the affected family.

A look outside the box

This variety of news shows that challenges and fates can evoke great emotions, both in sport and in the personal sphere. While the Rangers want to assert themselves against the Blue Jays, the missing case of Armin Lauter remains a sad chapter in Magstadt's history that will not let its residents go.
