A 38-year-old man caused excitement in Mannheim on Monday afternoon when he tried to escape the police. At around 4.30 p.m., officials noticed the man in his BMW on Angelstrasse and wanted to stop him due to a lack of a driver's license. Instead, he raced away at high speed and ignored the time of time.

In an attempt to stop him with a cross -crossing police car, the escape driver rammed the patrol car and continued his escape towards Karlsplatz. Due to construction site conditions, the police were able to lose sight of him temporarily, but his damaged BMW was soon found in a parking lot on Stengelhofstrasse - however, the driver remained without a trace. The Mannheim traffic police have initiated investigations for driving without a license and further allegations against the man and continues to look for him. The owner of the vehicle is also faced with an investigation into the approval for driving without a driver's license.
