Older driver crashes in underground car park: 20,000 euros damage!

On Monday, April 14, 2025, a dramatic traffic accident occurred at around 3:00 p.m. in Frankenstrasse in Marbach am Neckar. An 85-year-old Mercedes driver wanted to enter the underground car park of a dorm, when there was apparently a fatal confusion between the gas and brake pedal. The Mercedes accelerated suddenly, rammed the closed roller gate of the underground car park and finally crashed into a concrete wall.

In the impact, the 85-year-old and her 89-year-old passenger were injured. The severity of the injuries is previously unknown. The Mercedes had to be towed due to the considerable damage of around 20,000 euros, while the property damage to the underground car park was estimated at around 5,000 euros. A shocking scenario that luckily did not go out worse.
