Aalen's focus: the exhibition The hidden moment opened!
Aalen, Deutschland - In Aalen, the art scene is enriched with the special exhibition "The Hidden Moment", which offers a look behind the scenes of eight talented artists in the region. The photographer Benedikt Walther accompanied and documented these creative minds in her work. The artists are Jessica Rühmann, Wiebke Bader, Alfred Bast, Andreas Böhm, Paul Groll, Heidi Hahn, Klaus Joas and Ines Tartler. The aim of Walther's photographs is to give insights into the artistic work and the interior of the creative people, at the same time he had to master the challenge of remaining invisible during the recordings.
The opening of the exhibition took place on Friday evening in the gallery in the town hall in Aalen. On this occasion, Dr. Roland Schurig, head of the cultural office, the guests. The event was musically framed by the guitarist Axel Nagel, who interpreted the song "daily art". The photographs in the exhibition are characterized by an impartial documentary look and a fine feeling for atmosphere. The portraits of the artists are particularly emphasized, including that by Andreas Böhm. Accompanying the exhibition, a book by Marcia Rottler was published, which contains sensitive texts.

The gallery opened Monday to Friday during the town hall opening times, Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and on Sundays and public holidays from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. In addition, the book "The hidden moment" is available in both the gallery and in the Lit & Luis bookshop for 22 euros.
Art Prize of the VR-Bank Ostalb
The art prize of the VR-Bank Ostalb is also awarded in parallel to the exhibition. This year the price, which is endowed with 5,000 euros, goes to Martin Dammann from Berlin. Dammann, who was originally trained as a draftsman, is now known for his watercolors. His exhibition entitled "Great Flood", which will be seen from May 9th to June 25th, 2025, addresses relevant social and historical questions, including identity, gender roles, fascism and colonialism.The artist is born in 1965 and studied at renowned institutions such as the University of Arts in Bremen and the University of the Arts in Berlin. Dammann examines how life leaves traces and passes into history and pictures. Dammann was awarded several scholarships for his work, including the Else-Heiliger scholarship and a work scholarship from the Berlin Senate.
