Bopfingen drives wind power: new area planning decided!

Bopfingen, Deutschland - Bopfingen has decided to adapt its area planning for wind turbines. This represents a significant step in the climate -friendly development of the region. The city administration and the local council no longer have any objections to planning and thus give the green light for implementation. According to Schwäbische Post plays a decisive role, which is why a sub-area west of upper riff Area planning was removed.

As part of the nationwide initiative, the state government aimed to achieve a climate -neutral society by 2040. For this purpose, 1.8 % of the border area for wind power and 0.2 % for photovoltaics should be used. The regional association has already made the necessary changes to the design of the sub -regional plan wind energy and is planning to decide on the area targets in the regional plans by September 30, 2025 at the latest.

changes to wind power surfaces

Several area uses were carried out in Bopfingen. In addition to the area west of Oberiffingen, a small area south of the winds already designated was removed. These reductions were partly due to the water protection zone II and possible conflicts with the planned south road of the B29NEU and the entry lane for the Elchingen airfield. In addition, the view against Kapfenburg Castle and the IPF was taken into account. The municipalities around Bopfingen seem to be on the right track to fulfill the legal requirements.

As early as May 2024, the regional association Ostwürttemberg informed citizens about the partial update of wind energy. The background and the course of the plan procedure were explained in information events. Franka Zanek, the association director, and Jürgen Quentin from the Wind energy specialist agency on land presented the current state of the art and gave the citizens the opportunity to express questions about the planned priority areas. The events took place on the 6th, 7th and 8th of May 2024 in Ellwangen, Schwäbisch Gmünd and Heidenheim, as reported on the side of the regional association- Ostwuerttemberg.org .

outlook on renewable energies

Window's expansion is becoming increasingly relevant against the background of an increasing share of renewable energies in Germany. In the first half of 2024, 61.5 % of the electricity from regenerative sources, such as the Federal Government . Wind energy remained the most important energy source with a share of one third. The goal of the federal government to cover at least 80 % of gross current consumption from renewable energies by 2030 continues to be in focus.

In 2023, over a million new solar systems were installed, and the permits for wind turbines have almost doubled. These developments reaffirm the commitment to promote sustainable energies and ensure that Bopfingen will continue to play a central role in the expansion of wind power as part of his plans.
