Rotary Club and SPD donate 2350 euros for Vesperkirche in Wasseralfingen!

On February 15, 2025, the ceremonial donation was held in the Magdalenkirche in Wasseralfingen at 10:00 a.m. to support the Vesperkirche. This campaign, which is considered an important social anchor in society, has been supported by the Rotary Clubs Ellwangen and Aalen-Limes for years. This week, a total of 2,350 euros were collected, of which the Rotary Club Ellwangen and the SPD local association Wasseralfingen contributed 350 euros. Jose Funk, Paul Groll and Manfred Steinhart handed over the check to Pastor Uwe Quast from the Evangelical parish of Wasseralfingen-Hüttlingen.

Andreas Hatam, member of the board of the SPD, emphasized that support from the Vesperkirche was a matter close to the heart. Josef Funk from the Rotary Club also said positively and explained that the Rotarians were deeply impressed by the project because it "arouses emotions". On this occasion, the late Corinna Pavel, who led the organization team for a long time, was also thought of.

Vesperkirche as a social project

The Vesperkirche, which is open every day from 11:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., has been offering a warm lunch for all people in need for 28 years. Minister Manne Lucha (Bündnis 90/Die Grünen) also visited the Vesperkirche on the Ostalb and was able to see numerous volunteers in their commitment. Lunch is offered at a symbolic price of 1.50 euros per serving. Over 200 portions of beef goulash with noodles and salad have already been served, and many of the visitors are longstanding regular guests who appreciate the support of the Rotarians.

The complete financing of the Vesperkirche is carried out by donations. During the current campaign, it shows again how important social interaction is. Rotary Club Aalen-Limes also provides food and organizes the drawing as well as the distribution and clearing of the plates. Club President Ralf Drescher led a prayer and emphasized the importance of service in the community.

sustainable commitment and new initiatives

Another remarkable project of the Vesperkirche will take place in Weingarten. From February 4 to 23, 2025, it will take place in the Evangelical Stadtkirche Weingarten, organized by the Johannes Ziegler Foundation of the Zieglerschen, the Diakonisches Werk Oberschwaben Allgäu Bodensee (OAB) and the city church community Weingarten. Volunteers are urgently sought to support in various tasks.

The Vesperkirche in Weingarten is aimed at a wide audience, including the needy, homeless, people with psychological problems, young people, seniors, families, refugees and people in a wheelchair. The patron for 2025 is the Weingarten artist Ahmet Yardimci. The offer includes cheap food, services, a cultural program and opportunities for everyone.

interested volunteers can report by November 15, 2024. Further information on the Vesperkirche in Weingarten is available on the website, and there is the possibility to contact Diakonie Oab by phone or email.

The initiatives of the Vesperkirchen play an important role for the community and show how important social needs are met through voluntary work and donations. Commitment like this is needed to continue to offer people in need in the future.

Schwäbische Post reports that the Vesperskirche is not only seen as an appreciation, but but Also the possibility for the community to come together and make a difference in social interaction.
rotary.de emphasizes how important the support and commitment of the Rotarians are, while Schwäbische.de reported on the planned initiatives and the search for volunteers in the coming year.
