Ravensburg clearly loses against Potsdam: proud despite a 20:46 defeat!

On Saturday, August 16, 2025, the ifm Razorbacks Ravensburg team played a challenging encounter against the Potsdam Royals in the German Football League in the legendary Luftschiffhafen stadium in Potsdam. With a final score of 46:20, the Ravensburgers had to admit defeat, but the start of the game initially gave the fans hope for more. Ravensburg led 7-6 after the first quarter, which felt promising.

Broghean McGovern scored the first touchdown for the Razorbacks, while Tim Müller was able to convert the extra point. The joy was short-lived, however, because the Potsdam Royals quickly countered. Kenyatte Allen grabbed the ball after a failed punt and gave the hosts the lead, even though the 2-point conversion failed.

Potsdam puts the turbo in

The Royals really turned up the heat in the second quarter. Xeaiver Bullock scored the first touchdown with a decisive 12:7. A little later, Heiko Bals increased the score to 18:7 before Milan Spiller and Nathan Stewart were able to dominate the game with their powerful runs. Spiller then brought his team to 26:7 with another touchdown, followed by Bullock and Emanuel Bakare, who set the halftime score at 32:7.

Despite the deficit, the Ravensburgers did not give up. In the third quarter they managed to spice up the game and brought the Royals within 14:32 with a touchdown from Adrian Enneking. However, this positive turn could not be maintained for long. Heiko Bals from Potsdam scored another touchdown in the fourth quarter, which increased the gap again.

Fighting Ravensburgers and strong finish

A surprising interception return touchdown by Jonah Choate gave hope, but the Potsdam Royals could no longer be stopped. Kenyatte Allen took advantage of the opportunity and finished with his touchdown. The final score of 46:20 was thus sealed.

Ravensburg's department head Frank Kienzle was proud of his team despite the defeat. Many departures and injuries, such as the loss of Anthony Harris Jr. and Aniel Buße, who were replaced by Simon Mayr and Moritz Bredel, did not make the challenge any easier. Nevertheless, the team remains optimistic and ready for the next games.
