Diverse encounters in Dueville

But that's not all the club has to say. A group of Schorndorf residents, a diverse mix of all ages, recently took part in a visit to the Italian twin town of Dueville. The first excursion took the travelers to Valeggio sul Mincio, where the infamous tortellini are made and the magnificent gardens of Sigurta Park waiting for the visitors.

The people of Schorndorf were officially received by deputy mayor Giovanni Sorzato in the town hall of Dueville. In his speech he remembered Wolfgang Beck, who initiated the musical exchange between the two cities. Thomas Röder, the chairman of the partnership association, warmly thanked the organizers Maja Schnizer and Merlin Kamps and presented the mayor with a special Twin Town Gin edition from Dueville.

Living friendship

Another highlight of the trip was the trip to Chioggia, where travelers explored the picturesque canals and bridges. A relaxing panoramic trip on a motorboat allowed the group to experience the charm of Venetian architecture. Surrounded by a musical ensemble from the Corpo Bandistico, the tour group enjoyed dinner together at Villino Rossi.

In discussions with Mayor Giuliano Stivan and cultural assessor Cecilia Caldognetto, the importance of the friendship between Schorndorf and Dueville was made clear. Emanuele Costalunga, chairman of the partnership association in Dueville, praised the German hospitality, while the people of Schorndorf served German beer and gin and tonic to their Italian friends. At the end of the trip, the Schorndorfers received gifts from their Italian friends and are already looking forward to their planned return visit next year.
