In the district of Sigmaringen there were two burglaries last weekend and a spectacular traffic accident that caused excitement. Unknown perpetrators tried to break into a family home in Laiz on Saturday evening, but probably failed due to the surprised residents. Nevertheless, property damage occurred on the patio door. In Bad Saulgau, on the other hand, the slump was successful: here unknown persons broke into a ground floor apartment and ransacked the rooms. The investigation into possible relationships between the two incidents.

In the meantime, a 45-year-old driver caused an accident in the center of the town after colliding with an oncoming vehicle. At first he managed to flee from the scene of the accident, but two witnesses recognized him and stopped him. During the subsequent police check, it turned out that the man had over 1.6 per thousand alcohol in his blood. Investigations are now underway against him for hazarding road traffic and an escape of the accident, and his driver's license has been confiscated. The property damage on both cars amounts to around 8,000 euros.
