Gisela Eisele is giving up the rural women's chairmanship after 17 years!
The general meeting of the local rural women's association Ebersbach-Musbach, which recently took place in the seminar room of the Eisele company in Menzenweiler, marked an important turning point for the association. Gisela Eisele, the long-time first chairwoman, no longer wanted to stand for election after 17 years in office. In her review, she mentioned both the challenges and the successes that she was able to experience together with the members. After his welcoming speech, Mayor Roland Haug, himself a member of the rural women's association, took over the discharge of the board of directors, which actively represented the association in the region. [Schwäbische reports that Gisela Eisele no longer stood for election and Nora Ummenhofer was elected as the new first chairwoman.
The reports from secretary Sabrina Henze, cashier Martina Schäfer and auditors Claudia Blaser and Sabine Huber were also presented in a lively meeting. The new elections brought fresh faces to the board. Sybille Köberle was confirmed as second chairwoman, while Maria Dollinger took over as the new secretary. Martina Schäfer will remain with the club as cashier, and Sylvia Eisele will take over Nora Ummenhofer's vacant position as assessor.
Club offers and projects
The Ravensburg Rural Women's Association, of which the Ebersbach-Musbach Association is a member, not only promotes the interests of women with an agricultural background but also offers a wide range of programs that appeal to all women. The topics range from social and cultural aspects to creative offerings. Regular events such as seminars, practical courses and lectures are developed in close collaboration with members. [Rural Women's Association reports on a variety of events that are offered in these areas.
The district women's association also has long-standing campaigns such as the district Maiandacht, the Sichelhenke in Ravensburg and educational trips in its program. These activities not only promote community among women, but also strengthen networking with regional institutions and associations.
Women in agriculture
Current studies show the challenges and opportunities for women in agriculture. A study funded by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture examined the living and working situation of women in rural regions of Germany and revealed that gender equality in agriculture has not yet been achieved. Nevertheless, the trend shows that more and more women are becoming successors to the farm and becoming self-employed entrepreneurs. [BMEL points out the need for special courses and mentoring programs to support these women.
The results of this Germany-wide survey of over 7,000 women prove that it is time to make the diverse contributions and roles of women in agriculture more visible. It is important to improve the framework conditions for women in rural professions and to promote the compatibility of work, family and voluntary work.
The rural women's association not only advocates for equal opportunities, but also for education, commitment and social participation. This look at the realities of life for women in agriculture shows that the road is still long, but that there are many committed women who will continue to walk it with their commitment and dedication. The new elections in the Ebersbach-Musbach rural women's local association are a great example of the breath of fresh air that is blowing through the associations and the initiative that women are taking in our rural regions.
