Aalen's new parking guidance system: less stress, more environmental awareness!
Aalen's new parking guidance system: less stress, more environmental awareness!
In Aalen, the innovative smart city project "Incomo" has successfully started operating! With the support of the Ministry of Interior, for digitization and municipalities, a groundbreaking parking guidance system was developed, which is intended to significantly reduce parking search traffic in the city center. The aim is to relieve the environment and optimize the traffic flows - a real profit for all drivers!
The heart of the project is modern sensors that recognize free parking spaces and forward this information in real time on dynamic LED plates and the geodata portal of the city. In this way, drivers can be navigated quickly and efficiently to available parking space. This not only saves time, but also reduces emissions - a real step towards sustainable mobility!
transferability to other cities
The city of Aalen has installed a total of 32 state -of -the -art sensors in cooperation with the Bernard Group, Swarm Analytics and the Urban Software Institute. These enable precise predictions to the availability of parking space and form the basis for effective parking management. The results of the project were presented as part of the Baden-Württemberg Automobile Economy Strategy Dialogue and show that the concept can also be implemented successfully in other cities. Aalen sets standards for more environmentally friendly traffic design!
Thanks to this innovation partnership, Aalen has taken an important step into the future. The project impressively demonstrates how technology and cooperation can master urban challenges. For more information about the intelligent parking guidance system, visit www.aalen.de/inkomo.
