DHV ranking: Top 3 placement for Rector Prof. Dr. Dabbert at the University of Hohenheim
The most popular rectors in Germany were chosen as part of the rectors ranking of the German University Association (DHV). Prof. Dr. Manfred Bayer from the TU Dortmund, followed by Prof. Dr. Thomas Puhl from the University of Mannheim in second place and Prof. Dr. Stephan Dabbert from the University of Hohenheim in 3rd place.
Prof. Dr. Dabbert, Rector of the University of Hohenheim in Stuttgart, has received the award seven times from the professorship as the most popular rector of Baden-Württemberg. In 2016 it was even voted nationwide of the year. His positive assessment was justified by the professorship primarily with its great leadership style and its participation as well as accessibility. Prof. Dr. Dabbert is about to start on April 1, 2024 and will take six years.
totaling almost 68 percent of the respondents mostly judged the university management. School grades from 1 (ideal cast) to 6 (very worst line) were awarded. The German rectors and presidents received the grade "satisfactory plus" (2.75) from the scientists.
At the University of Hohenheim, 77 percent of the participants Prof. Dr. Dabbert, the "ideal cast" or a "very good line -up". This corresponds to an average grade of 1.84 (2+). The rector of the University of Mannheim, Prof. Dr. Puhl, received a school grade of 1.61 and was just ahead of Prof. Dr. Dabbert. Prof. Dr. Manfred Bayer from TU Dortmund reached the top position with a grade of 1.48 and was thus voted "Rector of 2024". Other rectors that belong to the top five are Prof. Dr. Birgitta Wolff from the University of Wuppertal and Prof. Dr. Susanne Menzel-Riedl from the University of Osnabrück.
Prof. Dr. Dabbert congratulated his colleague Bayer and Puhl on their success and emphasized how proud he was to work with them. At the University of Hohenheim, he feels the management of the innovative university with many creative minds as great honor and joy.
The DHV's rector ranking is a survey among the members of the association and evaluates the incumbent for the management of the university. Only universities were taken into account, the rectors or presidents of which were in office at least 100 days at the beginning of the vote and for which at least 30 reviews were submitted.
The detailed results of the ranking are published in the March issue of the magazine "Research & Teaching". The price "Rector of the Year" is awarded as part of the gala of German science and supported with prize money of 10,000 euros, which is to be used for a university -related project.
