Equal Pay Day 2024: Payment between men and women remains an urgent problem

at the Equal Pay Day (and actually every other day of the year) is time to take a critical look at the existing wage inequality, which is still an urgent problem. Despite progress in equality of gender, the wage gap between men and women remains an unbalanced and unsustainable phenomenon that may no longer be accepted.

According to current studies, women in Germany still earn less than their male colleagues for the same work! This imbalance is not only unjust, but also undermines the basic principles of fairness and justice at the workplace as well as the idea of equality and equality.

The Equal Pay Day reminds us that we have to continue to act in order to create a more fairer and more equal world of work. Employers, governments and society as a whole have to work together to combat walness and ensure that women are paid fairly and equally.

It is time for companies to introduce transparent remuneration systems that prevent discrimination due to gender. The government should enact and enforce laws and guidelines, ensure the same payment for the same work. In addition, stronger sensitization and education is required to reduce prejudices and to promote a culture of equality.

The DFK Association for specialists and managers will continue to work for the fulfillment of this important goal!
