Adventure-learning truck informs young people at Elringklinger about digital working world
Our life is becoming more and more digital. It is all the more important to serve digital applications and technologies and, above all, to be able to understand. The experience-learning truck of the education initiative Expedition D, which is guests from 03.07.2024 on the occasion of the information day "Training & Studies" at Elringklinger in Dettingen. Registered school classes will find out in the double-storey experience-learning truck on Wednesday and Thursday how digitization will change the world of work and what skills will be particularly in demand in the future. In the truck you can expect interactively designed work stations and a lot of high -tech to try out. The digital truck is a joint offer of the Baden-Württemberg Foundation, the Southwest Metal Association and the Baden-Württemberg Regional Directorate of the Federal Employment Agency.
The education initiative Expedition D provides young people about how digital technologies and applications change the world of work, in which professions they can help shape this transformation and what digital skills are. As a component of the Coaching4future program of the Expedition D-Truck through Baden-Württemberg.
From Wednesday to Friday, July 3 to 5, 2024, the experience-learning truck with an event and information program is a guest especially for pupils at the headquarters of Elringklinger AG in Dettingen (Max-Eyth-Str. 2). On Wednesday and Thursday, registered classes of surrounding schools visit the expedition D and then get an insight into the training offer from Elringklinger. On Friday, July 5th, the truck will be open to everyone from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the information day "Training & Studies". For example, there is the opportunity to visit the training workshop or to exchange with current trainees/students and the training officer.
At the beginning of their tour of the expedition D truck, the students discuss together with the coaches Benjamin Wiest and Antonia Lämmle, where they meet digital technologies in everyday life. You will then receive the order to develop your own innovative product, such as a smart home app or a lesson in 2030. You can find out which technologies you need for this in the "Room of Technologies" on the ground floor of the truck. At stations on robotics, sensors, machine learning, coding, virtual reality and much more, you can find out important details about the respective technology, solve practical tasks and tricky quiz questions.
Together they program the lighting system in the truck, train artificial intelligence, decipher codes, control sensors, sort planet or play in virtual reality using their own biosignals pingpong. The young people work with tablets, on a six-meter-long multimedia wall, but also at many hands-on stations. In the "Room of Ideas" on the upper floor, you can find out in a "Digiposter" which technologies and professions you need for your digital innovation. It depends above all on teamwork, creativity and communication - important skills for the digital world.
Expedition D can be discovered on the platform www.expedition.digital. Users there have the option of exploring the expedition mobile in 360 ° and using virtual reality to experience the effects of digitization on different professions. In addition, there are teaching and learning materials for teachers, a digi quiz and a game for digitization.
The education initiative Expedition D offers an interesting insight into the digital world of work and provides young people important digital skills. A visit to the experience-learning truck at Elringklinger offers school classes and interested parties an exciting opportunity to learn more about the world of work of the future and the associated professions and technologies.
