Rülke warns: coalition with the Greens? FDP relies on a bourgeois government!

In Baden-Württemberg, the political mood is bubbling: FDP parliamentary group leader Hans-Ulrich Rülke makes it clear that he wants to prevent a coalition with the Greens at all costs. "In 2026 I want to lead the FDP to government responsibility, in a bourgeois coalition, if possible in a black and yellow government," emphasized Rülke in an interview. He sharply criticized the Greens' migration and climate policy and described it as a "mobilization program" for the AfD. Despite his concerns, he did not complete a cooperation with the Greens, if the election result required it, he warned of the risk that the AfD could influence the formation of government, such as the Stuttgarter Zeitung reported.

Current survey values encourage the Greens

While the FDP is faced with only 4 percent of the lowest stand in the survey in over a decade, the Greens can hope for a relaxation under their new top candidate Cem Özdemir. In the current Sunday question, the party is 22 percent, an increase of 4 points compared to the last survey. This development shows that the Greens were able to stop their descent for the time being, while the CDU remains the leading force at 33 percent. The AfD records 15 percent, followed by the SPD at 13 percent, all values that result from a representative survey of the SWR, as Tagesschau reported.

Rülke expresses concerns about the possibility that the FDP could not be represented in the state parliament in the next state election in spring 2026. He refers to the need for a strong Ministry of Economic Affairs, which should also be responsible for infrastructure in order to strengthen the economy in Baden-Württemberg. Despite the gloomy survey values, Rülke remains calm and indicates that he is not too often afraid to re -enter. Political competition will continue to focus on the upcoming elections in the coming year.
