Truffle from Baden-Baden: Bioof Baumann starts innovative project!
Geroldsau, Deutschland - In Baden-Baden, an exciting chapter in agriculture is opened! The organic farm Baumann takes the leap into the world of truffle cultivation and relies on an innovative agrofors system. This forward -looking method is intended to thrive noble truffles, which could be harvested in about six to eight years. The first trees were recently set as part of a solemn planting campaign in the Schwarzwald Mitte/North Nature Park, supported by prominent personalities such as the member of the state parliament Cornelia of Loga and Mayor Alexander Wieland, like bnn.de reported.
The Agroforst project not only has ecological but also economic importance. Project manager Niklas Kullik explained that the integration of trees into agricultural areas not only fight climate change, but also to make agriculture sustainable. The trees act as natural air conditioning, protect against erosion and store CO2. The goal is to create a half -open landscape that can be used both for agriculture and offers protection.
a new way for the Baohof Baumann
The Baohof Baumann, who already manages 120 hectares of grassland and holds around 80 highland cattle, sees a new source of income in this project. The selection of the tree species is crucial: Speierling, wild cherry and hybrid nut should not only preserve the orchard character of the meadow, but also deliver high -quality value. Christine Baumann is optimistic that the climate in the region is now even better suited for truffle cultivation than in traditional growing areas in France. "We are always open to try something new," she says.
But the reality of the truffle cultivation is not without challenges. As reported by swr.de, including pioneers such as Andrea Braun and Tino Schneider, with disappointing harvests. After ten years of cultivation, expectations are high, but reality often looks different. Despite a recorded in July, autumn remains behind the expectations. The gastronomy is eagerly awaiting Baden truffles, but the harvest is low.
The future of truffle cultivation in Baden-Württemberg
The truffle community discusses intensively on the challenges of cultivation, in particular the effects of climate change and the need for suitable irrigation systems. The Association for Truffle cultivation and use in Germany, which was founded ten years ago, offers support and exchange of experiences for truffle plantation owners. Despite the setbacks, there is hope for a successful harvest. The truffle search is viewed not only as a business, but as an adventure.
Developments on the Baohof Baumann and the challenges that the truffle farmers look for show that the truffle cultivation in Baden-Württemberg is on an exciting path. It remains to be seen whether the truffles will soon end up on the tables of the gastronomy. But one thing is certain: the passion and innovation spirit of the farmers are unbroken!
