The first snowflakes have already been fallen in parts of Bavaria, and in Baden-Württemberg there is also snow, storm, frost and smoothness. But be careful! Young warns that many weather models often exaggerate when it comes to the snow depths. The warm ground could ensure that the snow does not stay long, which is in stark contrast to the predictions of the GFS model. The German weather model Icon, on the other hand, shows no signs of white splendor in the country.

"We know that the weather models often exaggerate with the snow depths," explains Jung. He advises not to go out of a nationwide winter wonderland, since the predictions are affected with a large question mark. The uncertainties will probably only be clarified in the coming days.

What is certain: The dry phase in Baden-Württemberg is over! Jung announces that it will get wet, no matter what form the precipitation falls from the sky. By December 1st, up to 180 liters of rain per square meter are expected in the Black Forest and Lake Constance, sometimes also as snow. The temperatures will decrease initially from November 20, but on November 25, the temperature agent could rise to 5 to 10 degrees. A weather chaos that will keep the region in suspense!
