Katia-Julia Rostek elected deputy general manager of BG Bau
The professional association of the construction industry (BG Bau) elected Katia-Julia Rostek as deputy general manager in its assembly on July 3, 2024. Rostek will take up her new position on August 1, 2024 and, together with the general manager Michael Kirsch, will lead the BG Bau. The representative assembly consists of 60 representatives of the employer and insured side as well as its deputies and acts as a "parliament" of the professional association. Before her election, Rostek was proposed by the BG Bau board.
The 49-year-old fully levy has been working at BG Bau since 2014 and recently headed the law and integrity. In this function, she was responsible for the uniform legal advice of the entire organization and monitored topics such as compliance, data protection, Justiziad, award, revision and central complaint management. Before moving to the BG Bau, Rostek worked for many years as a management consultant and lawyer in the public sector. She completed her legal training in Trier, Stuttgart, Lausanne and Hamburg.
After her election, Rostek thanked the representative assembly and the BG Bau board for the trust they have placed in them. She emphasized her intention to work closely with self -administration and managing director Michael Kirsch in order to shape the future of BG Bau. Rostek spoke of being a strong partner of the construction industry and emphasized the importance of customer orientation, digitization and a value-oriented corporate and leadership culture.
BG Bau is one of the largest professional associations in Germany and, as the provider of the statutory accident insurance for the construction industry, supervises more than three million insured, around 592,000 commercial companies and around 60,000 private construction projects. It promotes occupational safety and health protection at the workplace, offers medical care and rehabilitation for those affected by work accidents and occupational diseases and ensures their reintegration into professional and social life.
