On November 22nd, Moritz and Melanie Obermayer open the doors to their new pastry shop at Roßbachstrasse 2/4. After three years of intensive planning, the time has finally come. The two entrepreneurs chose Ravensburg because the city with its charming cityscape and the right population fits their concept perfectly. Moritz Obermayer, a master of Bavaria, who once took second place at the German Chocolate Masters, and his partner, an event clerk from the Black Forest, are ready to inspire the city with its delicious creations. The Obermayers rely on regionality: The ingredients mostly come from local farmers to ensure quality. "We want customers to see how we work," explains Moritz Obermayer. An inviting room is created on around 165 square meters by not only buying the treats, but can also be enjoyed on site.

The two confectioners Lucia Brückl and Ann Kathrin Steffen, who are already known for their delicious tartlets at the weekly markets in Ravensburg and Weingarten, take over the former "Café Kamala". "We did our master in 2021 and searched for a suitable location for a long time," says Lucia Brückl. With 35 seats in the café and another 40 on the terrace, an inviting place is created to enjoy the French -inspired tartlets.

The two entrepreneurs plan to create a varied offer that also includes hearty dishes and a lunch table. "We are keen to experiment and also offer special creations such as pumpkin Sauerkirsch tarts," says Brückl. In addition, they have already gained experience as order confectioners for great festivities and are not unknown because they took third place in the “brilliant” competition.

Ravensburg's business promoter Andreas Senghas does not see the two new business as a competition, but as a valuable addition to the city. "These are two different streets and not in the direct neighborhood," he explains. There has always been a café in Herrenstrasse, and the two concepts would complement each other perfectly. The city can look forward to a sweet enrichment that will attract both locals and visitors.
