Biberach celebrates: Miss Vollmer is 100 years old!
A very special day for Biberach: The honorary citizen Sieglinde Vollmer celebrated her 100th birthday in the technology and service center of the renowned sharpening specialist Vollmer. Numerous guests, including family members, employees and representatives of the city, the district and the supervisory board, came together to congratulate the impressive jubilee.
"It is a great honor for me to bring you the best wishes of the city of Biberach," said Mayor Norbert Zeidler. "Today we celebrate a woman that we are incredibly proud of and who plays an important role in our city." District Administrator Mario Glaser also did not miss the opportunity to congratulate the entrepreneur, who left a lasting impression with her life's work and its commitment to the community.
a life for Vollmer
Sieglinde Vollmer, who was born on November 30, 1924, has been connected to the company that her father Heinrich Vollmer had founded 15 years earlier. Her career began export in 1961, and in 1964 she took over the management together with her brother. To date, the vigorous hundred -year -old is active, as a member of the supervisory board and curator of her own foundation, which supports non -profit organizations in Biberach.
Despite their old age, Vollmer does not want a big celebration, but a contemplative get-together with their guests. Musical performances by a Tuba quartet and the Biberach city chapel created a festive atmosphere, while the vigilante honored with a salute. A special surprise was a small play that was reminiscent of her childhood memories on "Peterchen's moon trip". Martin Kapp, Chairman of the Vollmer Group, held a moving laudation and paid tribute not only to her entrepreneurial achievements, but also her human qualities.
