Creative trainees in the Ravensburg district set an example against racism!
In the district of Ravensburg, trainees have the opportunity to set a strong sign against racism and discrimination with their creativity. The “Yellow Hand” competition, launched by the industrial union building-Agrar-Umwelt (IG Bau), calls on all trainees to submit innovative ideas, be it in the form of short films, social media campaigns or exhibitions, by January 15, 2025. "Every idea counts to set a strong sign of tolerance and against discrimination," explains Andreas Harnack from IG Bau. The best contributions are awarded with attractive prize money, the first place will receive 1,000 euros, the second 700 euros and the third 500 euros.
The price exemption not only promotes the creative commitment of young people, but is also an important signal against right -wing ideologies that must not be accepted in society or at work. "There is no space for discrimination and racism here," emphasizes Harnack and illustrates the urgency of this initiative, especially in a region where many cultures meet. The Catholic-Theological Faculty also contributes to combating discrimination and has adopted a comprehensive code of Conduct to ensure a respectful and discriminatory atmosphere in the studies and at work. This code stipulates that any form of discrimination, be it due to gender, skin color or sexual orientation, is not tolerated. Such measures are intended to help promote respectful coexistence and to actively counter discrimination, as is determined on the faculty's website.
The connection to the topic becomes clear: Both the competition in the district of Ravensburg and the regulations of the faculty aim to establish a culture of respect and tolerance. The competition expires on January 15, 2025, while the award ceremony will take place in Magdeburg in March 2025. These initiatives are a step towards a future -oriented society that appreciates diversity and has discussions in a respectful way. Further information about the “Yellow Hand” competition can be read on the IG Bau website, while the Code of Conduct can be found on the Faculty on the website of the Catholic theological Faculty.
