Grandma's for future: Caricatures on the climate crisis - exhibition in Biberach!

The "Grandma's for Future" in Biberach consist of 13 active women who are supported by men and grandpas. This group is committed to climate protection and supports the "Fridays for Future" movement. On December 14th they demonstrated for a car -free marketplace on the market square.

In January 2025, the cartoon exhibition "Glossy prospects" will take place, which will be visited from 9 to 29 January in the town hall and in the adult education center (VHS). The opening times of the venues correspond to the visiting times of the exhibition.

Details about the exhibition

The exhibition includes works by 40 caricatureists who deal with topics such as climate, consumption and current crises. The caricatures shed light on the dark sides of the western lifestyle and address aspects such as climate change, hunger, human rights and globalization.

The exhibition is provided by Misereor, the Catholic aid organization for development cooperation. The Biberach artist Hermann Schenkel donated a cartoon that is shown and auctioned in the exhibition. The vernissage will take place on Thursday, January 9, at 5:30 p.m. in the town hall.

A supporting program accompanies the exhibition, including a authoral reading by Sara Fromm on January 22nd at 7 p.m. in the city bookshop. A future quiz will be held in the adult education center on Thursday, January 23, at 7 p.m. The auction of the signed first pressure of a caricature by Hermann Schenkel is planned for January 29th.
