Karlsruher SC is impressed: with a new team for the top game against Magdeburg!

The Karlsruher SC has recently undergone a remarkable transformation. Despite the loss of many key players, the club seems to be well prepared for the upcoming second division duel against 1. FC Magdeburg. The match is scheduled for Sunday at 1:30 p.m. and will be shown in a live broadcast at Sky.

In the previous season, players like the keeper Patrick Drewes, who switched to VfL Bochum, as well as captain Jerome Gondorf and the former Bundesliga star Lars Stindl, who ended their careers, left the club. The talented Igor Matanovic, who scored 14 goals this season, also returned to Eintracht Frankfurt after a strong loan. Further departures concern Paul Nebel, who is now playing at Mainz 05, and Tim Rossmann, who switched to Fortuna Düsseldorf.

Star player of the KSC: Wanitzek and Zivzivadze

Despite these departures, coach Christian Eichner has put together a strong team that is again competitive in the 2024/25 season. To achieve this, the team used various loan players from Bundesliga clubs, an approach that had already proven itself with Matanovic and Nebel. Among other things, the Talent Bambasé Conte from 1899 Hoffenheim, Luca Pfeiffer from VfB Stuttgart and the Youngster Lasse Günther by FC Augsburg could be brought to Karlsruhe for one year.

The two star players Marvin Wanitzek and Budu ZivziVadze deserve a special mention. Wanitzek, the captain, is considered one of the best players in the second Bundesliga. He is not only the heart in midfield, but also an excellent preparer with a strong shot. ZivziVadze has already scored six goals this season and is the best scorer in the league.

The positive development of the KSC is also evident in the season's achievements so far. A promising start results from a tie against league leaders Düsseldorf and four league games won as well as a success in the DFB Cup. The last victory against Schalke 04 with 2-0 in the wildlife park illustrates the strength of the team. The team has lost only one thing over the last 15 second division games.

The personnel situation at the KSC is currently also relaxed. Apart from defender Robin Bormuth, who is injured, all other players are ready and are motivated to do their best.
