Larger fields, better harvest: This is how winter cereals grow 2025!

In Germany, farmers have significantly expanded their acreage for winter cereals this autumn. With a total area of ​​4.8 million hectares, this is an increase of almost 257,000 hectares or 5.6 percent compared to the previous year, as the Federal Statistical Office announced. Especially in winter wheat, the most important type of grain in the country, the area for the 2025 harvest season was increased by remarkable 12.3 percent to 2.8 million hectares.
