Digital truck in Linkenheim: Young people discover the digital world of work and new technologies

The educational initiative "Expedition D" brings an interactive learning truck to Linkenheim between September 23 and 25, 2024, the pupils: Interior of the secondary school offers the opportunity to experience digital technologies and their influence on the professional world up close. In a double -story exhibition stationed in the school yard of the Realschule, the participants can gain practical experience together with coaches and develop innovative solutions for the future. This initiative, which is supported by the Coaching4future education program, aims to sensitize young people to the opportunities and challenges of the digital world of work.

Digitization has penetrated all areas of life in recent years and places far -reaching demands on future specialists, especially for the professional world. In Baden-Württemberg, one of the most technologically advanced federal states in Germany, the demand for specialists in the MINT area (mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology) is particularly high. According to a study by the IHK, over 50,000 jobs in the IT sector are not occupied in the Stuttgart region, which underlines the relevance of such initiatives such as the "Expedition D".

Historically, Baden-Württemberg is an innovation hub that has contributed significantly to the development of industries such as mechanical engineering, automotive industry and information technology. The cities in the Rhein-Neckar district, especially Mannheim and Heidelberg, are considered important locations for research and development. Digitization not only reduces traditional job profiles, but also creates new ones whose content in the education sector must be taught.

The learning effect of this program goes beyond the mere use of technology. It promotes key skills such as teamwork, creativity and communication that are essential for success in the digital world. Pupils are encouraged to develop innovative product ideas, use digital tools and to design concepts for future job profiles.

The initiative is supplemented by various fun and hands-on formats, which ensure a committed participation of the young people.
