Joining exhibition in Mosbach: School classes discover digital technologies and professions

The education initiative Expedition D brings its interactive experience-learning truck from September 30 to October 2, 2024 to the Augusta Bender School and the trade school in Mosbach. The truck offers students the opportunity to discover and try digital key technologies. This program should not only impart technology knowledge, but also stimulate the participants to develop creative solutions for future challenges. As part of the Coaching4future program, the Baden-Württemberg Foundation, the Southwest Metal Association and the Baden-Württemberg Regional Directorate are committed to the Federal Employment Agency for Working in Technical Professions.

The initiative is becoming increasingly important at a time when digital skills in vocational training and training are becoming increasingly important. Digitization has already penetrated many areas of the labor market and will continue to grow in the coming years. This affects not only technical professions, but also many other areas in which the use of digital technologies is expanded.

in Baden-Württemberg have been initiatives since 2017 that promote digitization in schools and young people. The lack of specialists in the MINT disciplines (mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology) is a central problem that is to be addressed by such educational measures. According to a study by the IHK Stuttgart, numerous apprenticeships will remain vacant in these areas in the coming years if it is not possible to inspire the students at an early stage for technical professions.

The tour of the expedition D truck is part of a larger program that has set itself the goal of bringing young people closer to the opportunities and challenges of digital transformation processes. Particular attention is paid to the promotion of teamwork, creativity and communication skills that are essential for the future world of work. Against the background of a constantly changing work environment, educational institutions and companies have to work together to train the next generation of specialists.
