Coinbase introduces tool to create AI agents
- Coinbase has introduced a tool called Based Agent with which users can create AI agents that can automate tasks such as swaps and staking.
- The tool uses technologies from Coinbase SDK, Openai and Replit to enable everyone to create a AI agent in less than three minutes.
Coinbase announced Based Agent, a tool for creating AI agents that can carry out a variety of tasks, from exchange to stucens and bridging to the registration of crypto domestic names by interacting with various smart contracts and other AI agents if necessary.
Coinbase urges
Based agent is not a first excursion into the world of AI agents. In the past, members of the company have used AI for various purposes or to prove their feasibility. Brian Armstrong, CEO of Coinbase, supervised transactions between two AI agents in August, in which one agent paid the other with tokens.
Recently Jesse Pollak, Head of Protocols at Coinbase, drew attention to a AI bot called Luna on Twitter, who gives users independently to deal with his content.
Truth Terminal, the Twitter-Ki-Chatbot, which was significantly involved in the development of Memecoin Goatseus Maximus, which is currently being traded with a market capitalization of $ 700 million, is also an example of the progress that AI agents have made in recent months.
AI agents are still facing developmental hurdles
The growth of AI agents is not without disadvantages. One main reason is the inability of AI agents to find out bank accounts and thus automate payments outside the chain. AI agents cannot book hotels, buy flight tickets or manage recurring subscriptions.
However, efforts are made to close this gap by developing on-chain payment methods that can be integrated into the real world. In August, a blockchain development company named Skyfire created a platform that enables AI agents to autonomously spend money.Biconomy, a Web3 infrastructure company, started a delegated authorization network that serves as an authorization level for AI agents to act token on behalf of users.
At the same time, the Base network enables AI agents to use USDC to carry out transactions in real time with humans and other AI agents. However, this function has not yet prevailed in real payment transactions.
Despite the gap, the development of AI agents continues to increase and, according to James Ross, founder of fashion Network, could make up 80 % of all blockchain transactions in 6 to 12 months.
