eBay publishes its first NFTs in partnership with Oneof

  • The popular online marketplace previously dealt with NFTS, but this is the first time that it himself brings NFTs to the market
  • The focus of the digital collector's items is athletes' personal personalities

The e-commerce giant Ebay announced on Monday that it would present a “Genesis” NFT collection of non-fungible tokens, which contains animations of popular athletes, including the ice hockey legend Wayne Gretzky.

The NFT collection includes thirteen digital collectibles that are available at different stages. The start is a joint venture with the NFT platform Oneof, which builds on Tezos and polygon. The companies confirmed that they would continue with the NFT drops beyond the digital collectibles in "limited edition". However, the NFTs will concentrate on athletes who can be seen on the front pages of Sports Illustrated.

There are four levels-green, gold, platinum and diamond-the former is the cheapest and the latter costs up to $ 1,500. Ebays Vice President of Collectibles, Electronics and Home Dawn Block said that the market launch was a sign of the ongoing commitment of the marketplace to offer users new products.

"Due to our partnership with OneOF, eBay now coveted NFTs for a new generation of collectors everywhere. This builds on our commitment to deliver eBay community of buyers and sellers high-quality articles with a high level of passion." href = "https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/22/05771/ebay-launches-first-collection-of-nfts-partnership-with-green-web3-company-oneof"

first direct participation

This is not exactly the first Rodeo from eBay in non -funni tokens. The marketplace introduced the NFT trade on its platform last year and is said to be reporting further NFT integration. However, it is the first time that Ebay is directly involved in the introduction and sale of NFTS.

The introduction of the Ebay NFT collection takes place if the NFT area has less interest and falling prices. In his Q1 2022 NFT test report observed the analysis platform Nonfungible (as well as the exchange volume) and the number of active addresses with digital collecting objects have decreased since they reached new heights at the beginning of the year.

It is also noteworthy that the announcement takes place a month after the announcement by Amazon CEO Andy Jassy, that e-commerce, cloud computing and digital streaming companies could consider selling NFTs. Although it has spread its wings into other niches, Amazon is one of the greatest competitors from eBay. It is actually the only e-commerce platform that lags behind eBay in terms of active users.
