A former manager of Binance has filed a lawsuit against the company's British department for unjustified dismissal after having expressed concerns about alleged bribery.

Amrita Srivastava said that she was wrongly released after she had presented the matter to the management. According to Srivastava, a colleague has requested bribes from a customer "under the guise of providing advice", he reports Bloomberg .

SRIVASTAVA claims that she was released from her position at Binance for a month after she told her managers in April 2023. According to the lawyer of Binance, Srivastava was released due to "poor performance".

In an explanation, the lawyer said:

"The decision to end your employment relationship due to poor performance went back to concerns that she had addressed in terms of a problem that was already known and was examined by our internal audit team."

According to Bloomberg, the colleague in question has now left the company. In a testimony, Srivastava said that “she was not ready to look away when someone had cheated on a customer and was still part of the team.”

This is the latest lawsuit against Binance. Last June, the US stock exchange supervision SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) sued Binance for violation of US securities laws by offering services for high-quality US customers on its platform.

In November 2023, the US Ministry of Justice requested more than $ 4 billion from Binance-after the former CEO of Binance, Changpeng Zhao, was guilty of money laundering-to enclose the criminal investigation against Binance.

As part of the Doj agreement, Zhao resigned from his office. He later resigned as CEO.

Zhao was later sentenced to four months in prison, which he has served since then.
