The US Securities and Exchange Commission has postponed its decision on the proposed Spot-XRP-Exchange-Traded Fund from Franklin Templeton.

The announcement of the SEC of April 29, 2025 states that the authority now has time until June 17, 2025.

Up to this date a decision must be made whether the XRP-Spot-ETF is approved or rejected.

A new delay gives the authority more time to evaluate Franklin Templeton's proposal.

According to the submission of the SEC, the delay is legally permitted and gives its time to thoroughly examine the proposed change of rule and to assess their agreement with the requirements of the self -regulation organization.

ETF analyst to the next steps

Despite the delays, the demand from investors remains strong for such crypto ETFs.

In the past few months, emitters have submitted over 70 proposals to seek approval to list Exchange-Traded Funds on top altercoins. XRP, Solana, Litecoin, Hedera and Dogecoin are among the most expected.

In terms of the delay, Bloomberg said ETF-Analyst James Seyffart, expect that further delays could occur this week and the coming days.

It is noteworthy that the authority has also postponed its decisions about Ethereum-Staking and Dogecoin ETFs.

Seyffart assumes that the final deadlines for most ETF submissions will be in October 2025 or later.

"I expect further delays today or at least this week at some Solana and Hedera/Hbar ETF submissions. This is expected in my opinion. The final deadlines for most of these things are in October 2025 or later," noted Seyffart.
